Processes & Projects: A journey of learning by doing!
Luis Sanchez, PMP
I am a professional in project management with over 10 years of experience managing projects in Information Technology, Interactive Media, Business Process Management (BPM) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Currently I serve as Vice President at the PMI Nebraska Chapter, where I am actively promoting the Project Management profession trough the use of social networking and web strategies. I have had the privilege of managing various business initiatives including electronic media campaigns, business process re-engineering, and electronic payments strategies. I enjoy leading training programs in Business Process Management, Project Management, Management of Information Systems and Business Process Improvements; which is part of my previous experience as a professor at the Universidad Externado and Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano in Colombia. At these institutions I was granted the opportunity to research and publish my explorations of the applications of Business Processes Management concepts to diverse industries and fields such as the Corporate Social Responsibility field.
As an entrepreneur, I had the wonderful opportunity to co-found BPM Global Solutions, a company based in Colombia, dedicated to provide consultancy services in BPM. I thank all my customers such as Citibank, Citicolfondos, Direct TV, Sisa and also am quite thankful to all of my all partners in the United States and Latin America, especially with Pectra Technology Inc, Intalio, KPMG and Softek. My background includes a BS in Systems Engineering, Master of Business Administration (MBA), and graduate degrees in Software Development and Strategy Management. Currently I am pursuing a Master of Science in Project Management at Boston University. I hold the PMP certification and also devote my time to the community as a volunteer Assistant Soccer Coach for a youth competitive team for the Kearney Soccer League in Nebraska, USA. This journey would not be possible without the continuous support of Michele my adorable wife, Juan Pablo my goofy son and Elizabeth; the light of my eyes!
